Apple is working on a Long-Range Wireless Charger and an AirPower-Like Charger that Has Been Abandoned.

Apple scrapped plans to release the AirPower wireless charging pad, which could charge numerous devices at once.

After many claimed launch dates, the business identified development hurdles and opted to abandon the project.

However, it appears that the business is still working on a multi-device charger that is similar to AirPower.

Furthermore, Apple is developing long-range wireless charging as well as reverse charging. Scroll down to learn more about the topic.

Apple is working on contactless long-range wireless charging solutions as well as an AirPower-like wireless charger.

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman said in his monthly Power On the email that Apple is still working on an AirPower-like charging mat that will be able to charge several devices, including the iPhone, AirPods, and Apple Watch.

In September of 2017, Apple unveiled the AirPower alongside the iPhone 8 and iPhone X.

Apple had planned to release the AirPower charging pad in 2018, however, the release date was pushed back owing to development concerns.

Apple appears to have scrapped the product in March of this year.

With the release of the iPhone 12 series, Apple introduced MagSafe technology as a result of the cancellation.

Apple introduced the MagSafe Duo attachment, which allows the iPhone and Apple Watch to be charged wirelessly at the same time.

If the news about the AirPower-like charger is correct, Apple will allow consumers to charge three devices simultaneously.

A functional version of the AirPower charging pad is also on display.

Apple, according to Gurman, is also researching contactless charging technologies.

Apple is working on “short and long-distance wireless charging devices,” he says.

Furthermore, he believes Apple sees a future in which all important products can charge one another.

This implies that an iPad can charge an iPhone, while an iPhone can charge an Apple Watch or AirPods.

Aside from that, it’s been reported that Apple is working on reverse wireless charging.

While Apple has enabled reverse wireless charging for the MagSafe battery pack in the iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 series, the capability has not been enabled for other devices.

Folks, that’s all there is to it.
